Time Zone Escapes, located on the lobby level of the Chelsea Hotel, offers 2 exciting escape rooms, perfect for new players and experienced players alike. 

Groups of 4 to 8 can play in the rooms.  (This is a general rule of thumb.  We will accept groups of 2 or 3 but they will have a minimum charge of three guests.)  Groups of 9 or 10 are welcome with a caution that the physical size of the room is limited. 

Groups larger than 8 we recommend breaking into two groups and playing both rooms for the best experience. 

The two themes are:  

The Curse of the Evil Genie – You are trapped in his lamp and must determine which 10 of the tales of the thousand and one Arabian nights are the Genie’s favourites in order to break the curse and escape the lamp.  

Blackbeard’s Brig – You have been captured by the evil pirate Blackbeard who has imprisoned you in his brig. (the jail on the ship.)  Blackbeard and his crew have left the ship to pillage and plunder the nearby town. This is your opportunity to escape!  

Both games are 60 minutes long. 

Genie would be considered an intro to moderate room.  

Blackbeard’s is a bit more advanced. 

All games are private experiences – guests will not be combined with strangers. 

Right here on this website. Choose the game room and time slot that works best for you.  The system will take a one person deposit which is refundable if the game is cancelled at least 24 hours before. 

There are cameras and microphones in the rooms and all games are monitored by a dedicated gamemaster whose job it is to provide assistance when necessary and ensure the best possible experience for all. They provide hints through an electronic messaging system. Gamemasters have been trained to give just as much help as needed – depending on the skill level of the players. 

The doors are never locked. You can leave the room at any time. 

We would like to see you a minimum of 15 minutes before your game start time. This will allow you to be properly briefed and ready to go.  We work hard to stay on schedule and it helps if we can start on time so we thank you for being prompt. If you are late, we may have to start your timer at your appointed time.

This is a mind game, not a physical game.  

We are happy to host children’s parties. For all children under 15 we require an adult attend inside the game room (we do not charge for the adult). With parties of 5 or more, the birthday child is free.  

Time Zone Escapes is completely accessible.  

Time Zone Escapes gift certificates are a perfect option for birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions. You can purchase them here on our website or from our reception desk. 

At Time Zone Escapes, we have a dedicated gamemaster for each adventure. Their job is to ensure you have the best time possible. They will follow along closely and if you are getting stuck, they will provide you with a hint to set you on the right track. For this reason, most teams are successful in escaping the room. If you do not want hints, that’s ok. Simply let your gamemaster know prior to the game.  

Two or three people can play our games but we have a minimum charge of 3 players.

We offer a corporate teambuilding package which includes a very positive half hour pre-discussion featuring topics like active listening, respectful workplace and core values. Following the session the groups play the games and then after are provided with a little chart that indicates how their group performed together – not as a judgement but their style – how they is an extra charge for the teambuilding session of $450. 

This session is an optional add on for corporate groups.  We charge $450 for the session. Sessions will be held in your own meeting room if they are guests of the hotel, or there will be an additional charge for the meeting room
